ISOA-NJ POLICY STATEMENT REGARDING MEMBERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Membership in the
Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association of New Jersey, Inc., is a
privilege offered and granted to individuals who not only perform
capably as referees during intercollegiate soccer competition, but also
carries with it an obligation for each individual member to uphold and
promote the stated goals and objective of ISOA-NJ and do nothing to
bring ISOA-NJ into disrepute or work against its goals or objectives.
Conduct which is considered unethical or contrary to the best interest
of ISOA-NJ shall be subject to penalty.

It is agreed and
understood that members of ISOA-NJ are also members of the National
Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association, Inc. who are afforded the
privilege of officiating intercollegiate soccer contests in accordance
with guidelines set forth in the rule of the game.

In addition, ISOA-NJ has
set forth the following Code of Ethics:

1. I shall always
maintain the utmost respect for the game of soccer.
|
| |
2. I will conduct myself
as a professional at all times and maintain the dignity of my position.
|
| |
3.
I shall always honor a contractual obligation and appear in sufficient
time to perform all my pregame duties.
|
| |
4.
I will endeavor to attend local meetings and clinics so as to best know
the rules and their interpretation.
|

5.
I will carry my share of the load and strive to achieve maximum teamwork
with my partners.
|
| |
6.
I shall be loyal to my fellow officials and never knowingly permit or
promote criticism of them.
|

7.
I shall be in good physical condition so as to be in the right place at
the right time.
|
| |
8.
I will control the players effectively by being courteous and
considerate without sacrificing firmness.
|
| |
9.
I shall do my utmost to assist my fellow officials to improve their
work.
|
| |
10. I shall not make statements about any game except to clarify a rules
interpretation.
|
| |
11. I will maintain
impartiality and not socialize with coaches, player players or
spectators.
|
| |
12. I consider it a
privilege to be a member of NISOA/ISOA-NJ and will uphold both at all
times. |

13. I shall neither
solicit nor assign games without authorization of ISOA - NJ.

| |
14. I shall not embarrass
or discredit my fellow officials, ISOA - NJ or NISOA.
|

15. I shall utilize good
grooming practices and appear for all games assignments in proper
uniform as required by ISOA - NJ/NISOA. |
